Head of Kitchen

Elias

Elias worked on the golf course previously as our tractor driver. He showed interest in cooking and was brought into the kitchens. He has blossomed and with guidance and has become an integral part of our kitchen team. We are proud to have Elias leading our kitchen team.

Enock

Enock previously worked at Peterhouse School and recently joined our team. He has very different experience and has brought some great ideas to the kitchen.

Johannes

Johannes is a young man from our local community who began working casually at Aberfoyle in 2020. He showed interest in the Kitchen Department and has been working hard to become an integral part of the team

Loveness

Loveness came to assist in the kitchen during busy periods over the school holidays and very quickly became a vital part of the team. She is training and working hard to become a chef at Aberfoyle and has spent time focusing on some of the divine desserts served to our guests.

Ian

Ian has very recently joined our team. He assists the kitchen department in all the preparation and cleaning. Ian’s calm, friendly personality brings a smile to the whole team.

Morgan

Morgan used to spend his school holidays at Aberfoyle Lodge caddying to make some extra pocket money to help towards his school fees. One day a group of birders asked him if he knew a certain bird that they were desperate to see. He said yes and showed them a couple of very special birds. He didn’t know the names of the birds but he did know how to find them from the pictures of the guide books. Morgan claims that he was never good at soccer as a little boy so he spent a lot of time with nature. From that day he was bought a bird book and some binoculars and is now one of Southern Africa’s top local bird guides.

George

George has worked at Aberfoyle for a very long time. He spent some time at Far and Wide where he was trained as an activities guide. His smile is huge and is always ready to ensure that you have an incredible time on the many activities available.

Isaac

Isaac is our newest member and has come in from Nyanga to help maintain our gardens. He is passionate about his job and always has a huge smile on his face. He will sometimes step up to assist with guiding and assists George with some of our fun activities.

Amon

Amon works between the lodge and our self catering house. He is quiet and behind the scenes but contributes a large amount to the upkeep of the vegetable garden with Prince.
Head Greenskeeper

Maxwell

Maxwell is in charge of our beautiful 9 hole golf course which is no small task. He keeps it in great condition so that each round of golf played is an incredible one. He leads his team with great enthusiasm and is sometimes brought in as a guide. You can’t miss his smile and very polite nature.

Mirius

Mirius is a very hardworking greenskeeper who ensures that the golf course is always looking good. He is also used as a guide on some of our hikes and is an awesome caddy, making sure you don’t reach the record of 36 lost balls.

As his name suggests, Samson is a very strong and hardworking young man. A man of little words but one that is always busy doing something.

Gift

Gift was one of 4 young men who joined us in 2020 as casuals during the busy period. Gift loved the Golf Course work and has fitted perfectly into the team. He is responsible for our neatly hand-painted signs on the course. Gift is a calm, quiet young man who works hard behind the scenes.

Owen

Owen is our youngest team member at 20 years of age. In the school holidays he would help out on rafting trips to earn extra money for school fees. When he showed potential he was given a chance inside the lodge. He has taken the opportunity with open arms and is fast becoming an integral part of our front of house team.

Timothy

Tim has been with us for a long time. He took a year to go and work in Cape Town where he gained some valuable experience. He is now back and is a major part of our front of house staff. He is always willing to help and ensure that service is of a very high standard.

Obert joined us from a five star hotel in JHB. He has quickly slotted in to the team and has become a very important member. He continues to share valuable experience with his colleagues and we look forward to seeing him grow in his role.

A calm, very well-mannered man, Tendai has joined our team over the last year and fitted in very well. He is always ready to help and will ensure your stay with us is a happy, comfortable one.

Cannon

Canon joined us just after completing his A Levels. He has worked hard to become part of the Front of House team and is now an integral part of our team. Canon is always happy to help with any of your needs, be sure to be met with the biggest smile.

Solomon

Solomon is a began as a very hard-working member of the housekeeping team. Always willing to get the job done. He took on more responsibility taking care of our stores and has shown his solid, honest personality to be very valuable.

Nayaradzai

Nyaradzai joined our team in 2021 and has fitted in just perfectly! She lives in a nearby village, Zindi, with her little family. With previous experience in South Africa, Nyaradzai has an impeccable eye for detail and will ensure your rooms are beautifully clean every day. She has fast become a wonderful leader of her department.

Viola

Viola is in charge of Hornbill House with a beautiful, happy smile to greet you. She is an extremely hard worker who will ensure that her job is done properly.

Trymore began working at Aberfoyle in 2021. He has an infectious smile and a lovely calm demeanour. Always willing to assist where needed Trymore will definitely contribute to your stay at Aberfoyle Lodge.

Prince joined our team in 2022 in a trainee position. He has shown commitment and hard work and we look forward to a long relationship with this happy, smiling young man.

Nyasha

Nyasha has joined our team to assist Viola up at our self catering house. She works hard to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay and is always willing to help.

Rudo

Rudo has very recently joined Aberfoyle. She will be in our housekeeping team under Nyaradzai. She is always smiling and is very hardworking. Rudo is also training to offer massages to our guests in the near future, look out for this new activity coming soon.

Lino

Lino was one of our team of young men who assisted with casual work in 2020. He showed interest in joining our team more permanently in the Housekeeping Department. Lino is always smiling and incredibly hard working. He enjoys assisting with maintenance work around the lodge too so you may come across him and a toolbox during your stay.
